The Druid Path

Ogham & Tree Lore

The Druid's animal lore was similar to many of the attributes and meanings the Native Americans gave to the various animals. Druid lore varies on some of the animals and also revere some different animals which are specific to the British Isles. The best source for a full description of the Celt's view of the various species can be found in the Druid Animal Oracle by Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm. While usually thought of as a divination set, the Oracle also includes an excellent book that covers the history and lore of each of 30+ animals. The book also features the exquisite artwork of Bill Worthington. Below is a partial selection of the animals reviewed in the Druid Animal Oracle.
